Material Overview
PLA matrix reinforced with chopped carbon fiber strands for significantly improved stiffness and rigidity compared to standard PLA. The carbon fiber filler gives parts a distinctive matte carbon appearance without visible fiber texture.
Print settings (typical):
- Nozzle temperature: 200–230 °C
- Bed temperature: 25–60 °C
- Nozzle: Hardened steel 0.4 mm minimum required (abrasive filler)
- Print speed: 30–50 mm/s
vs standard PLA:
- Stiffness: +30–50% higher
- Tensile modulus: ~8–10 GPa
- Reduced interlayer adhesion (brittle behavior)
- Matte surface finish
- Slightly heavier
Applications: Structural prototypes, drone frames, rc car parts, mechanical brackets, laboratory instrument components, lightweight jigs.
